Alia Bhatt From Highway is Guaranteed to be on Loop for a Long Time

Alia Bhatt in Highway
Alia Bhatt in Highway
I was obsessed with Patakha Guddi from Highway (the first song release from the film) after listening to it a few times. However, the second song release - Maahi Ve - is an instant favourite. It’s a fantastic, feel-good track sung by Mr A R Rahman himself, the music composer for this film. You shouldn’t think twice about giving this song a try!

IMTIAZ ALI SAYS:

“Maahi Ve is coming more from Rahman sir than from Irshad [Kamil, lyricist] or me. This is one of the songs that Rahman sir makes and one wonders how the hell does he get the soul of the the story so beautifully. Maahi Ve was not a part of the original brief but I cannot imagine the film or the album of Highway without it.”
Alia Bhatt, Imtiaz Ali
Alia Bhatt, Imtiaz Ali
Saying that Rahman captured the soul of the story is high praise indeed, because Imtiaz Ali has always insisted that the ‘soul’ of Highway is something he could never get out of his head. That’s why the story stuck with him for 15 whole years and why he’s making it now. When we interviewed him, he said, “[There's] something very distinct being said in the film. The soul of the film cannot be expressed in words, which is why we’ve made a film. But there was something that this girl, in this journey, was experiencing. I just couldn’t get that out.”
  Alia Bhatt in Highway

It’s great that this video focuses on the growing, unconventional relationship between these two characters, Veera and Mahabir (Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda). Whatever promos we’ve seen so far – including the trailer – have seemed to mostly focus on Alia and her character. This time around, however, we get to see a lot more of Randeep and the love story between the two characters. Even though Highway is going to be a lot about Veera’s personal journey and growth, there will be a romantic angle, because Imtiaz himself said that he keeps getting drawn to love as a concept. He told us, “It keeps happening. I don’t gravitate towards it. I don’t think while making a movie that it’ll be a love story. It’s perhaps my incomprehension of the term love that keeps me drawing towards stories that are then later categorised as love stories.”
That aside, how lovely does the video look? It’s shot across some beautiful parts of the country.
As you can tell, I’m in love, both with the song and the video. What are your thoughts?

How to celebrate Diwali

INDIAN GIRL LIGHTS A DEEPAWALI LAMP IN AHMEDABAD
Diwali is one of the most auspicious and significant festivals in India. Also called as deepawali or deepavali, this festival is commemorated and celebrated by Hindu with so much pleasure and mirth. From the words “deep”, which means light and “avail” which means a row, diwali festival is also known and called as “the festival of light”. The five-day celebration of diwali is literally filled with bright lights and luminance. You can feel the joy and fun of the festivity in the air. Everybody seems to be in a fun and frolic mood.

Diwali festival starts on the day of Dhanteras, the first day of diwali, and ends on Bhaj Dooj, the fifth day of Diwali. This festival usually falls between October and November. Weeks before the actual celebration, you can see everybody getting prepared for the diwali to come. Markets are filled with Diwali decorations items for homes and offices. Diyas and other diwali gifts are offered as well. People start cleaning and decorating their homes. Get to know more about the celebration of Diwali and how Hindu celebrates this festival of light.

Significance of Diwali

Before we discuss about the activities and customs observed during this holy festival, isn’t it better to know why Hindi celebrate this day in the first place? Then, one must know the significance of the diwali first.
According to the legend, Diwali commemorates the day when Lord Rama return from defeating the evil king Ravana and rescuing his wife Sita. Overjoyed with the triumph of their lord, people in Ayodhya lit up rows of diyas (small earthen oil lamps) and burst firecrackers as a welcome gesture. But simply put, Diwali is a celebration of the victory of light over darkness. This is the time when the goodness overruled the darkness.

Diwali Celebrations and Festivities

During the Diwali festival, despite of the status or class in society, people celebrate the day with equal zeal and merriment. Hindu communities let themselves enjoy the pleasures that the festival brings. Different activities are held on the day of deepawali. Most of these activities offer ultimate enjoyment and fun!

Grand Feast

Diwali is the time when people can actually forget the time and just enjoy the lavish feast. Women in every household prepare yummy delicacies and sumptuous meals for the family, friends and neighbors to enjoy. Everyone are welcome to eat. Some may even call you to eat to their home and enjoy the lavish lunch or dinner together with the family. Feasting may not be compulsory during Diwali, but many people in India are more than willing to spend a lot and host a grand feast for they believe that its strengthen the unity of the family and friends and social ties.

Bursting Firecrackers

Diwali is also considered as New Year for Hindus. The defeat of darkness means new beginning for people in India. That’s the reason why they celebrate Diwali with firecrackers, just like what people do when celebration of New Year on January 1. It is believed that the noise produced by bursting firecrackers chase evil spirits away. There may be harmful effects in using firecrackers due to its chemical content, it can’t stop people from using them. Now, to keep you safe from these harmful effects and prevent you from harming others, you should use firecrackers that are safe to use. If the children wish to burst firecrackers as well, be sure there are adults to guide them.

Sending Diwali Messages

Diwali is started as the celebration of the victory of Lord Rama. People shared sweets and messages while sharing the news about his return. That tradition is still follows. People share Diwali messages and Sweets to neighbors and relatives. Distance friends and relatives send Diwali cards to their friends through internet or post.

Decorating Homes

A few days before the Diwali, people are cleaning and decorating their homes. They make sure that every corner of the house is prep up for the festival. It is believed that Goddess Lakshmi visit the people on Diwali. And for them to welcome the Goddess of Wealth, they should clean the house and decorate it with beautiful Diwali Decorations. They use flowers, garlands, new embellishments, lanterns and wall hanging to spruce up their home.

Making Rangoli

During the festival of light, you can see every household having their rangoli designs in their entryway, porches or front doors. Rangoli is an artwork made of colored powder or flowers. It is also called as muggu or kolam, depending on the regions. They feature bright colors and decorative themes. Rangoli making is believed to be a gesture of welcoming Hindi deities in their home.

Diwali Crafting

Creative people take opportunity to explore and exercise their creativity when holiday approaches. No difference when it comes to Diwali. If you love crafting, then this is the best time to create decorative crafts that you can use to decorate or give to loved ones as gifts. Making and painting diyas is one of the most popular crafting among kids and women. Others may also create decorations out of paper or recycled materials.

Games and Gambling

There are a lot of different games that one can play during the deepavali. Amongst the most popular is playing cards. This is considered as the oldest diwali traditions. It is also played for pastimes or just mere fun jerker. One of the most popular card games is rummy. You can play this game with or without at stake, depending on what you and your playmates want. Aside from playing cards, indoor games like pass the parcel, puzzle, musical chair, and outdoor activities like hide & seek, scavenger hunt, etc offer great pleasures on diwali.

Cooking Sweets and Treats

People used to say that in every festival, there should have some sweets, else it’s not complete. Same goes with Diwali. During the festival of light, people in India prepare mouthwatering and yummy treats for the whole family and neighbors. Sometimes, they even pack them to give them away to their friends and neighbors on the day of Diwali.

Priyanka Chopra is the Most Dangerous Celebrity

Priyanka Chopra
Priyanka Chopra
Take that Mogambo, there are new villains in town. :) A new research conducted by computer security brand McAfee has brought up some interesting results! The organisation decided to find out who’s the most dangerous celebrity online – as in, which celebrity name is most used by cybercriminals to take advantage of those people who seek more information about their idols. These cybercriminals use the celebrity’s name along with keywords such as ‘wallpapers’, ‘videos’ and ‘nude pictures’ to attract people to malware-ridden sites. And this year, Priyanka Chopra topped the list of celebrities, with 79 infected results in her name.
The others include:
Most Dangerous Celebrities 2013
Most Dangerous Celebrities 2013
Interestingly enough, this brought up a point: men are more dangerous than women! Priyanka, Kareena and Sunny were the only women to make it to the top 10. Also, Katrina, Bipasha, Deepika and Aishwarya all dropped out of this year’s list – last year they were 2nd, 5th, 7th and 9th respectively.

How to Write Good Stories: Tips and Tricks For The Beginning Content Writer

If your writing skills are good enough and you are considering building a career out of content writing or ghost even, you might find yourself in the troubling position of spending two or three hours on a average six hundred words article. Which is not bad, if your value in life is to focus on quality rather on quantity – basically to distinguish yourself from the other farm – writers out there who had the same idea for their future careers. But in a cost-effective world, if you are good enough as a freelancer, you might find yourself not being able to respect all the deadlines and all your clients’ wishes and needs. If you were lucky enough to get hired by a guest posting writing services company, the amount of work is likely to overcome the speed of your fingers typing. You will be the slow one, or the one that doesn’t meet the criteria and your fabulous career in SEO or independent blogging might not see the desired outcome. So what do you do? Sacrifice content for quantity? Definitely not! Stir your wheel to more shallow approaches? Definitely not! So what do you do to write awesome content and many articles a day?

Tips and Tricks For The Beginning Content Writer

Choose your fields of interest
Content writers should be able to write anything about everything, but this doesn’t mean you have to be a scientist having deep knowledge on every possible subject. Find your best and most comfortable niches (which should be more than one, experts say) and develop them. Use your past college knowledge or even your personal hobbies and start working on them. Make a database with the best and updated information on a subject, read, and study and have them at hand. When you will need to write about a specific topic, you should know exactly where to look. Use high authority websites and even take notes about news and recent development in a field, they might be useful later. Having multiple niches at your fingertip is the best thing you could achieve: cross-referencing subjects and intertwining them allows you to be more creative, to draw inspiration more easily and to ease up the process of writing. Making analogies, being able to provide educated comparisons and interlinking different fields is one key to success in professional content writing.

Build a story starting from a general outline
Just as in creative writing, having an outline helps you save time. Before putting the words on the paper, you should know  what is the story’s subject, what are its main points, where do you want to lead your readers to. Give the story a purpose. Professional writers, just as novelists make up a story having only a vague idea and improvising along the way. This doesn’t mean that inside their heads they know nothing about what they are writing about. As a beginner content writer, your outline should include an introductory paragraph, configuring the premises, the general story and the goal, followed by the actual content. You already know it should be unique, original and highly informative so the next step and the hardest, is to provide that content.

Research
Many beginner writers lose themselves in this stage, spending a great amount of time cross – referencing the information they found, analyzing multiple sources, wanting to give their best. These are the hours that differentiate you from a prolific writer. What is to be done? First rule of journalism says to check your source and you can do it easily, because you already have an ever-growing database of resources you can verify and get inspired by. Next step is to permanently ask yourself the same question over and over again: what is this article about? Restrain your interest to the story’s subject and keep in mind that you are not working on a doctoral thesis. If you have to present five new business opportunities, do exactly that: present them, having in mind the person who reads the article. Is that information useful to them? Does it provide enough data for them to start searching on their own, if interested? Is the information presented in a logical, simple, attractive way? Will they bother to finish the article and read the conclusions? You will see that comments about business ethics stranded far away from your purpose to presenting the business, so you should know where to stop when developing on a subject.

Clear the mess at the end
Take a look to the beginning and look at what you are typing now: are you still on the subject? Does it still sound like having a purpose and is still loud, clear, informative and easy to read? If not, brush the text until it serves its real purpose. It may take you some extra – time, but once you become a little more skilled, you’ll end up doing it as it goes.

Writer’s block is only inside your head
It is true that even novel writers and professional content writers meet the so called “writer’s block”, when they don’t know where to begin and where to finish, what to write and how to sound like they are not completely bored. Many experts say that you should write no matter what. But in truth, you might end up with a messy article, showing your lack of mood and creativity and your complete disinterest in the subject. This doesn’t pay. If you experience the phenomenon, you should try to find your own methods to overcoming it. Some writers go for a walk, others read (inspiration comes from the most unexpected of places!), others take a break and do something else. You will be more efficient and your work quality will be higher if you take a break and come back in full force than making efforts to put some words on the paper, just because you have to.

The Top 10 Most expensive Painting in the World

Archimedes once famously said, “Give me a lever long enough and a place to stand and I’ll move the world”. He did. And  for the records, he wasn’t really the only one that astounded the world, in the art world; we have people like Pablo Picasso, one of the greatest and most influential artists of the 20th century, Edvard Munch, one of the greatest Norwegian painter who ever lived.
There are others which this post can’t possibly contain if I was to begin naming them. We have Vincent Van Gogh the Dutch painter, I also can’t end mentioning names without remembering Leonardo Da Vinci, the famous painter known for the extremely popular Mona Lisa painting which is rumoured to be worth a staggering 1billion US dollars.
But the reason these painters are well known and sort after today, wasn’t because they all came from rich homes, far from that, it was genuinely because of what they were able to accomplish with just a wild imagination and a paint brush.

And they, with just those two intrinsic things, have made paintings worth multi millions of dollars.
Below are 10 most expensive painting works wrought solely by their hands in today’s world -

1. The Card Players (1892-93) – Paul Cezanne

Amount– $259 million

This painting is among a series of 5 oil paintings famously created by the French post-Impressionist artist Paul Cezanne during 1890 – 1893. One of the oil painting (the largest one actually) was sold in 2011 to the royal family of Qatar for a staggering price of $259 million, thereby making it single-handedly the most costly art work ever sold in the world. The rest of the oil paintings are housed in different museums in America.

The Card Players (1892-93) - Paul Cezanne

Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, houses one. Two are owned by the Barnes Foundation, Philadelphia. The remaining two are housed in Courtauld Institute of Art, London and Musee d’ Orsay in Paris.

2. No. 5, 1948 (1948) – Jackson Pollock

Amount – $140 million

This extra-ordinary masterpiece was painted by an American painter Jaskson Pollock, which is popularly known for his profound contribution to abstract expressionist movement. But back to the painting, it was painted on an 8’ x 4’ sheet of fibreboard.

           No. 5, 1948 (1948) - Jackson Pollock

It was originally owned by the Samuel Irving Newhouse and was late sold for an insane amount of $140 million to an unknown buyer in 2006 which was said to be David Martinez, managing partner of Fintech Advisory LTD.

3. Woman III (1953) – Willem de Kooning

Amount – $137.5 million

This awesome painting was mastermind and painted by Willem Kooning; and it’s among the 6 series of painting he did which main theme was a woman (as shown below). All 6 paintings were later completely around 1951 – 1953.

Woman III (1953) - Willem de Kooning

Then in 2006, David Geffen (the present owner at that time) sold it to billionaire Steven A. Cohen for a mouth watering $137.5 million, which ended up making it the third most expensive paintings ever sold.

4. Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I (1907) – Gustav Klimt

Amount – $135 million

This painting is the first Adele Bloch-Bauer’s portrait that was painted by famous painter Gustav Klimt (the second one is the 10th expensive painting on this post).

                                   Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I (1907) - Gustav Klimt

This beautiful painting was later sold to Ronald Lauder in New York for a staggering amount of $135 million, which automatically made it the 4th most expensive painting in the world.

5. The Scream (1895) – Edvard Munch

Amount – $119.9 million

This painting titled, “the scream” is among the 4 series of masterpiece painted by the popular expressionist artist Edvard Munch around 1893 -1910. The artwork depicts a figure which seems to possess an agonized face which a surprise look against a mixture of an orange and fiery red sky.

The Scream (1895) - Edvard Munch

Leon Black later ended up buying this masterpiece of art for an auction price of – $119.9 million, thereby making the scream the 5th most expensive painting in the world currently.

6. Nude, Green Leaves and Bust (1932) – Pablo Picasso

 Amount – $106.5 million

The Spanish masterpiece Pablo Picasso painted Nude, Green Leaves and Bust in 1932. It features his mistress Marie-Thérèse Walter.

Nude, Green Leaves and Bust (1932) - Pablo Picasso

This masterpiece which was formally in the possession of Los Angeles art collectors Sidney and Frances Brody and was later sold at an auction for a hectic amount of $106.5 million, which made it the second highest world record price for a masterpiece sold in any action.

7. Garcon a la Pipe (1905) – Pablo Picasso

Amount – $104.2 million

Garçon à la Pipe which means “Boy with a Pipe” in English is a masterpiece painted by the famous Pablo Picasso in 1905. This was precisely when he was 24 years old, and the oil drawing explicitly features a Parisian boy holding a pipe and having is head crown with different flowers.

Garcon a la Pipe (1905) - Pablo Picasso

The masterpiece was later bought by the Barilla Group through an auction, which they won for a staggering amount of $104.2 million, making it the 7th costliest painting in the world.

8. Eight Elvises (1963) – Andy Warhol

Amount – $100 million

This silkscreen painting of Elvis Presley is a masterpiece done by American pop artist Andy Warhol in 1963.

Eight Elvises (1963) - Andy Warhol

The masterpiece was later sold for $100 million on November 26, 2009 to a private broker Philippe Ségalot; making the portrait, automatically, the 8th most expensive painting in the world.

9. Dora Maar au Chat (1941) – Pablo Picasso

Amount – $95.2 million

This masterpiece is again another art work of Pablo Picasso which he drew his mistress, Dora Maar, seated on wooden chair with a cat around her left shoulder.
The painting was precisely painted around 1941, during the time when the France nation was being occupied by the Nazis.

Dora Maar au Chat (1941) - Pablo Picasso

In 2005 – ‘06, the painting was bought in an auction for $95.2 million by an unknown art collector, which made it the 9th most expensive work of art in the world.

10. Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer II (1912) – Gustav Klimt

Amount – $87.9 million

This elegant long portrait is a 1912 masterpiece painted by Gustav Klimt. The woman in the portrait is the wife of rich industrialist Ferdinand Bloch-Bauer.
Her portrait was reportedly seized from their family house by the Nazis during the World War II. So after the world war, it was later made to rest in an Austrian museum.

Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer II (1912) - Gustav Klimt

Then In 2006, the family wanted to take possession of the portrait back and as you’d imagine, the Austrian museum refused to give the portrait back. And in January, 2006, this led to a long court case that ended in the Austrian museum handing over the portrait to the niece of Bauer.

The painting was later auctioned of at a whopping pay of $87.9 million to an art collector, and that deal made it the tenth most expensive paintings in the world.

Now, I’d have to end this post as they’re literally 100’s of other paintings that still exist which are also equally costly too.

So let me ask, out of the top ten lists I just made you scan, which picture was the best for you and which one did you think didn’t deserve the price tag.

Use the comment box below to let us know your answer; we’ll be expecting it.

Thanks for reading.

Rakhi : "A thread of love – Raksha Bandhan Festival"

India is a home of many festivals and each of them has their own significance. All of these festivals are celebrated with great joy. One such festival that had remained popular since long is Raksha bandhan- a festival that depicts the sweet relationship of a brother and sister. It is an auspicious day for Hindus where all sisters tie the pious string in the hands of their beloved brother and along with it they pray for their long, safe and happy life too. The popularity of this festival has not restricted to the boundaries of India only and had become popular all around the globe.

When you will be celebrating Rakhi this year?

Rakshabandhan is always celebrated on the full moon day or Purnamasi as they say in Hindu community of Shravan month, the month that is known for heavy rainfall.  This year Raksha bandhan will be celebrated on the third Wednesday of August, that is, on 21st of August.

Can Rakhi be called a relation of thread only?

The deepest and loveliest virtuous relation of a brother with her sister could be regarded as the most beautiful emotion of the world. Rakshabandhan provides you with an opportunity where this virtuous relation is celebrated by tying a string in the wrist of the brother by his sister. This string cannot be identified as a normal thread as it is throbbed with the sublime sentiments ad the endless love of a sister. Rakhi signifies protection, here the brother promises to protect his sister in all situations. It signifies that the one who is stronger will always safeguard the weaker one from all evils that come across. Rakhi is always tied on the right hand of the brother.

How these Rakhi looks like?

The original Rakhi has no proper shape or material associated with but traditionally Rakhi is made with silk thread generally entangled with silver or golden ones. They are crafted with delicate embroidered sequence and sometimes even embossed with precious stones. Overall it looks beautiful.
Happy-Raksha-Bandhan

Is it true that Friendship band is an extension to Rakhi?

To an extend it holds true as when a female starts thinking that a male has develop a soft corner for her, she rather than reciprocating directly turns the relation towards friendship through the similar strings called Friendship band. This is a small way by which without hurting others feeling a sweet relation is formed through strings.

Historical value

Rakhi is behind the foundation of many political ties. History has remained witnessed about the glory of Rakhi where Maratha and Rajput females have sent it to Mughal king and had asked him for protection. Despite of castism he came up with great help and had saved the glory of this fraternal bonding. Even the King Porus is known to forgive the life of Alexander the Great when Alexander’s wife sends a Rakhi to Porus and request him not to kill her husband.
Rakhi started for lord Varuna but today it has become an inseparable part of Indian tradition.
